Emons Group announces the appointment of Perry Houtepen as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Houtepen officially assumed his role at the start of this year.

With a background in economics and extensive experience in finance, Houtepen’s international career path includes roles at firms such as PwC and leadership positions at Stork Food Systems and Howden. At Howden, he served as Managing Director. His desire for connection and shared values led him to the opportunity at Emons.

Reducing carbon footprint

Houtepen’s aim is to contribute to positioning Emons as an industry frontrunner, especially in the areas of environmental impact and innovation. “My vision encompasses foundational enhancements, market visibility improvements, and a robust focus on sustainability. Operational excellence through data and sustainability will remain at the forefront of Emons’ strategy. We will particularly focus on reducing our carbon footprint and, likewise important, support our customers in their carbon footprint reduction journey”. Houtepen has already organized sustainability workshops covering aspects from vehicle fleets to corporate social responsibility.

Recognizing the logistics industry’s ever-changing landscape, Emons’ new CFO emphasizes the importance of flexibility and innovation. Change, he says, is an opportunity for growth and progress. “A sailboat needs wind and waves to move forward, just as a company requires changes and challenges for innovation”.

Social contributions

Houtepen also focuses on amplifying Emons’ social contributions. A prominent example is the company’s involvement in events like Alpe d’HuZes, a cycling event on rising money for the benefit of research on cancer. He intends to join this year’s event taking part in the sport.

“I am confident in Perry Houtepens ability to steer the company towards a future of innovation, sustainability, and continued success”
