Van Huët Glass Logistics takes over the glass activities of Interliner!

Van Huët Glass Logistics (Tiel, NL), member of the Emons Group in Milsbeek (NL), has taken over the glass activities of the Austrian company Interliner retroactively as of 1st January 2010. Interliner got into financial problems in the course of last year, finally leading into bankruptcy.
With this take-over, Van Huët increases her market share in the specialty market of jumbo size glass transportation per inloader (see photo).
“The glass industry has been going through a process of consolidation in the last years. This trend is also being followed in the transport industry. The consequences of the economic crisis only accelerate this process”, says Bert Strikkers (managing director of Van Huët).
Due to this take-over, the capacity of the Van Huët fleet increases to 300 inloaders, thus reinforcing the number 2 position in this niche market in Europe.

Van Huët Glass Logistics is a specialist in the field of transport and logistics for the float glass industry. With innovative concepts such as the MaXi-Trailer® and Logiglass®, Van Huët continues to make transportation more sustainable (reduction of emissions such as CO2) and to reduce the cost of transportation of float glass, both on the road and intermodally.
